In the Beginning...

It happened on a regular Tuesday: early morning prayer, drop off my son at daycare, go back home for some breakfast, and then off to church for more time in prayer and meditation to prepare for the week. I didn't plan for it or anticipate it in any way.

But then it hit me, this irresistible urge to share my thoughts with a wider audience. I don't know what brought it on, but suddenly I was at my computer, searching under keywords like "writing" and "growing an audience". My search eventually led me to the world of blogging, and I was reeled in like a big-mouth bass swallowing a wormhole.

After about an hour of research, I settled on a way to get my first-ever blog started, and now here I am, writing my first-ever blog entry. Even though I am a pure novice at this, it somehow already feels natural, as though coming back to my childhood home. I've always loved writing, and I especially love writing about other things I'm passionate about, namely, worship, leadership, and theology.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I love many other things too. Sci-fi/fantasy, movies, and food quickly come to mind. But as much as I enjoy those things, my aim is to make some kind of meaningful contribution to the online conversation related to church ministry and the Christian faith. I've been blessed with the opportunity to work in pastoral ministry over the past several years, and now I feel it's time for me to share some of the things God has taught me with an audience that goes beyond my immediate circle.

I'm hoping this blog will prove to be a rewarding and thought-provoking endeavor. To be honest, I'll probably keep writing regardless of how many readers I get. But my hope and prayer is that you and many others will join me on this journey and that we can share, learn, and grow together.
